| On Election Day, voters in Florida’s 14th Congressional District have a clear choice between a proven champion for Tampa families and a MAGA extremist who will put Donald Trump and powerful special interests first.
Refresh your memory on ‘MAGA Mike’ Beltran’s record of making life harder and more expensive for Tampa families:
- Beltran’s record includes calling to repeal the Affordable Care Act and voting against expanding Medicaid and housing programs, dismissing such investments as “crony capitalism.”
- He cast the lone vote in either chamber against Florida’s $717 million “Live Healthy” package, which increased Medicaid reimbursements for dental, nursing, and maternal care.
- He was one of just six members of the Florida House to vote against a $711 million affordable housing package.
- And he has pledged to stand “with President Trump every step of the way.” He said “I’ve never…turned my back on President Trump, and I never will” – on every policy raising costs for Florida families: from the war in Iran, to tariffs, to trillions of dollars in health care cuts.
- Beltran admitted he is “accountable to almost nobody” – including the people of FL-14. He has a special interest history of taking tens of thousands of dollars from insurance and utility companies, voting to let those same companies raise costs on Floridians, and bailing them out to the tune of $1 billion.
- Mike Beltran directly filed a defamation lawsuit against a young woman who had been sex trafficked as a teen, willingly serving as the attorney of a man implicated in alleged sex trafficking crimes involving young women, drugs, and traveling across state lines.
STATE OF THE RACE: Republicans tried to gerrymander Kathy out of Congress by drawing her into a Trump +10 district. Despite draining more than $14 million from Republican Super PACs into attacking her in what should’ve been an “easy pick up,” Republicans have watched every national race rater move FL-14 in her direction and into toss-up territory, and Trump has been forced to divert resources in the closing days.
