INQUIRER: “DEMOCRATS BUILD MOMENTUM WITH A SWEEP OF HIGH-PROFILE RACES IN PENNSYLVANIA” By now you’ve seen the headlines: Democrats dominated all across Pennsylvania last evening. The results flash a massive warning sign to vulnerable Republican Congressmen Brian Fitzpatrick, Ryan Mackenzie, Rob Bresnahan, and Scott Perry. Here’s what you need to know: In PA-01 Democrats swept all four Court of Common Pleas seats, won all five Democratic Row Officer positions, flipped the Sheriff’s Office blue, and elected a Democratic District Attorney for the first time in Bucks County history. In PA-07 Democrats swept races in Lehigh and Northampton Counties, toppled Republicans in Lower Macungie and South Whitehall, and the Democratic Mayor of Allentown Matt Tuerk won with more than 70% of the vote. In PA-08 Democrats flipped four seats and will control Luzerne County Council, regaining major ground in an area that swung toward Trump in 2024; Democrats swept Lackawanna County row office races and three Scranton City Council seats… and oh yeah, the Mayor of Scranton scored a “dominant win.” In PA-10 Democrats won in Cumberland County, “a historically GOP locale outside of Harrisburg” – a victory that has been called “a shock.” Democrats swept Dauphin County.
