Kevin McCarthy’s handpicked candidate used money from her failed 2018 campaign to lie about her Q1 fundraising
On Monday, we told you about career politician and perennial candidate Karen Handel’s curious Q1 fundraising and how Handel actually raised nearly $100,000 less than she initially announced.
Today, Georgia voters have their answer. According to Roll Call’s Simone Pathé, Karen Handel’s “Q1 announcement included money leftover from 2018.”
Yikes. Georgia voters sent Handel packing in 2018 and one month into her latest campaign, things don’t seem to be going much better for the constant candidate.
“Career politician Karen Handel thinks it’s okay to lie to voters about how much money she’s taken from Washington special interests,” DCCC spokesperson Avery Jaffe said. “This isn’t just a mistake, it’s an intentional act of deception from a desperate politician who will do anything to go back to Washington after Georgia voters rejected her in November.”
