CAUGHT RED HANDED? “Jen Kiggans’ Wikipedia Page Edited to Erase Recent Racism Controversy” [Black Virginia News]

Republican Congresswoman Jen Kiggans faced a wave of “backlash” in the press this year when she agreed with racist remarks during a radio interview. Is Kiggans now trying to rewrite her record?

New reporting from Black Virginia News reveals that Kiggans’ Wikipedia page has been edited to scrub “any reference to the interview from the record.” 

The news outlet points out this could be part of a larger pattern, noting: “Kiggans’ team has apparently quietly erased inconvenient material before, including wiping mentions of gas prices from her campaign website as costs climbed.”

Local Black elected leaders previously spoke out and called on Kiggans to apologize for agreeing with the racist remarks. She has refused to apologize and has faced calls to resign from other members of Congress.

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Jen Kiggans still owes Virginians an apology for agreeing with racist remarks. She won’t be able to scrub her real record come November.”
