News Follows Polling Showing Moe Davis Leading Cawthorn 45%-42%
Today, news broke that Madison Cawthorn argued on his website that voters in North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District shouldn’t vote for Moe Davis because one of his supporters “quit his academia job in Boston to work for non-white males, like Cory Booker, who aims to ruin white males running for office.” This pattern of offensive and reprehensible behavior isn’t new for Cawthorn, who has already come under fire for a well-established pattern of signaling to white supremacists and for his close ties to QAnon.
DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer released the following statement:
“There is no place in Congress for politicians like Madison Cawthorn who sow hate and division and believe that working for ‘non-white males’ is disqualifying. Between these comments, his white supremacist signals, and his QAnon connections, Cawthorn has revealed himself to be patently unfit to serve the people of North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District. Madison Cawthorn owes every single person who he seeks to represent in Congress, especially Black voters, an apology.”
