Today, DCCC Chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney announced the addition of senior leaders, including newly created positions focused on engaging communities of color.
Joining the team are Kristin Slevin as Chief of Staff, Veronica Yoo as Senior Advisor for AAPI Engagement, and Christale Spain as Senior Advisor for Black Engagement. They will join Gisel Aceves, who serves as the DCCC’s Political Director for Redistricting and Senior Advisor for Latino Engagement.
Aceves, Spain, and Yoo will work across the DCCC’s organizing, communications, paid media, research, and voter protection programs. Together, these hires will lead the DCCC’s effort to engage and expand support among some of the Democratic party’s most critical voting blocs.
DCCC Chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney
“The Democratic Party has a deep bench of talented operatives and I’m overjoyed these new hires are with us in the fight to protect our House Democratic Majority. I know we’re building a team that knows how to win and reach voters across the democratic coalition that will power our victories next November.”
Kristin Slevin, Chief of Staff
“House Democrats have delivered results for the American people in the wake of a devastating pandemic, threats to our most fundamental human rights and unrelenting attempts to deny ballot access to our most vulnerable communities. I’m thrilled to join the DCCC and Chairman Maloney in the righteous fight to defend our House majority and build a team that reflects the values and faces of our country.”
Veronica Yoo, Senior Advisor for AAPI Engagement
“In 2020, record high turnout among Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders helped to power critical Democratic victories and set the stage for House Democrats to deliver results for AAPI communities—from the American Rescue Plan to the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act. I’m ready to get to work alongside this battle-tested DCCC team as we build on that momentum in 2022 by investing early and engaging intentionally to persuade and mobilize AAPI voters, and to defend our Democratic House majority.”
Christale Spain, Senior Advisor for Black Engagement
“I’m excited to join the team at the DCCC in the fight to hold the House Majority. Engaging Black voters through meaningful outreach earlier this cycle will be vital to mobilizing our base in 2022.”
