Chris Collins’ Q1 Fundraising Report: $0 raised from Humans, $20,000 spent on Lawyers

Indicted Congressman Raised $0 from Individual Contributors and His Legal Fees Are Adding Up

It’s getting really ugly out there for Chris Collins. The indicted congressman failed to raise a single dollar from human beings in the last fundraising quarter.

Seriously – not $1 from real people…

Compared to the $281,000 Collins raised during the same time frame in 2017, it’s more than just his integrity that’s fallen from grace.

But just because the money’s dried up, doesn’t mean the legal bills have stopped pouring in! In fact, Congressman Collins had to pony up more than $20,000 to pay off his lawyers leaving him with less than $170,000 cash on hand. #Sad.

Perhaps this is why Collins can’t decide if he’s running for reelection in 2020.

“After raising $0.00 from anyone over the last three months, Chris Collins’ donors must have realized their money could be better spent in ways other than covering his legal fees,” said DCCC Spokesperson Christine Bennett. “Facing constituent outrage over his indictments and his votes to end protections for people with pre-existing conditions, it’s hard to see how Collins makes it to 2020. Our recommendation? Call it quits now, Chris.”

The DCCC has listed Collins on our Republican Retirement Watch List
