Christina Bohannan will flip IA-01 blue and help take back the House majority
Today, the DCCC announced that Christina Bohannan has been added to the first round of its highly competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program, signaling that the DCCC is invested in providing Bohannan, a top-tier candidate, with the support needed to continue building a winning campaign as she runs for Iowa’s 1st congressional district.
“Christina Bohannan understands the challenges working Iowa families are facing because she’s lived them – and she’ll be ready on her first day in Congress to deliver results,” said DCCC Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene. “Iowans deserve better than a politician like Mariannette Miller-Meeks who takes millions of dollars from special interests then votes their way at the expense of Iowa families. There’s no better candidate to take on Miller-Meeks and flip this seat than Christina Bohannan.”

In 2020, IA-01 was the closest House race in the country – Mariannette Miller-Meeks won by only six votes. This time, Miller-Meeks’ extreme anti-abortion record will be top of mind for Iowa voters after the GOP-led legislature passed a near-total abortion ban last year and is now pushing to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot that would eliminate the right to an abortion. Meanwhile, Christina Bohannan is building a strong campaign to flip this seat blue.
