Christina Hines Added to DCCC’s Coveted ‘Red to Blue’ Program

Christina will flip Michigan’s 10th District blue and help take back the House majority

Today, the DCCC announced that Christina Hines has been added to the committee’s highly competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program, signaling that the DCCC is invested in providing Christina, a top-tier candidate, with the support needed to continue building a winning campaign as she runs for Michigan’s 10th Congressional District.

“Christina Hines is tough as nails and has what it takes to flip this open seat blue. Serving as chief prosecutor of the special victims unit, Christina put violent criminals behind bars to keep Michigan families safe. A mom of three living with her family in the very same community that raised her, Christina gets the challenges facing Michigan families — that’s why she will be the fighter to get costs down, build a better future for Michigan kids, and stand up to corruption to bring new leadership to Washington,” said DCCC Chair Rep. Suzan DelBene.

With deep roots in Macomb County, Christina Hines is running for Congress to fight for the community that raised her. As chief prosecutor for the special victims unit, Christina took on violent criminals and predators to keep children safe. Now as a mom raising her three kids in her hometown of Warren, Christina understands the struggles families are experiencing because her working class family lives them, too. Christina will fight tooth and nail to lower the cost of living, protect families and keep them safe, stand up to corruption, and bring a new generation of leadership to Washington. In an open seat race decided by just 1,600 votes in the last midterm election, Christina will flip the 10th District blue and be the fighter that Michigan deserves.

This open seat was won by just 1,600 votes in the 2022 midterm cycle and this race will be another close fight, as Michigan’s 10th District is historically more favorable to Democrats in a midterm environment. The path to victory requires winning in swing Macomb County, home to nearly 90% of the district’s registered voters — and as the only candidate from Macomb County, Christina is in a strong position to beat out-of-district nepo baby Mike Bouchard Junior.

Red to Blue is a highly competitive and battle-tested DCCC program that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue building winning campaigns. Additionally, through Red to Blue the DCCC provides strategic guidance, staff resources, candidate trainings, fundraising support, and more.
