Christy Smith Added to DCCC ‘Red to Blue’ Program

Smith is ready to flip this seat blue and deliver for California families

Today, the DCCC announced that Christy Smith has been added to its competitive ‘Red to Blue’ program, which arms top-tier candidates like Smith with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue to develop strong campaigns.

Christy Smith is an experienced California state assemblywoman running to flip California’s 27th District. This race is a rematch of the 2020 election for CA-25 — a race that was decided by just 333 votes. Her opponent, MAGA Republican Mike Garcia, voted against capping the price of prescription drugs, voted against the certification of electoral votes in the 2020 presidential election, and called Capitol Police “the Gestapo” following the January 6th insurrection.

Christy Smith’s experience as a former U.S. Department of Education policy analyst and current member of a state environmental council allows her to bring nonpartisan expertise to a divided Congress. She is ready to beat MAGA extremist Mike Garcia and deliver for California families, workers and small business owners.

DCCC Spokesperson Maddy Mundy
“Only three hundred and thirty three votes kept Christy Smith from representing CA-27 voters in Washington two years ago. Now, in an even bluer district and with a clear record to contrast against MAGA Mike, CA-27 voters are ready to send Christy Smith to Congress.”
