| As health care costs continue to skyrocket thanks to House Republicans letting ACA tax credits expire, Chuck Edwards and Greg Murphy are hellbent on making life even more expensive for North Carolinians.
Edwards and Murphy just voted AGAIN against a bipartisan effort to extend ACA tax credits for three years. Their vote sends the clear message that they are a threat to North Carolinians’ access to affordable health care.
REMINDER:
- 79,000 and 70,000 people in NC-11 and NC-03 respectively rely on the ACA tax credits to afford their health care
- Premiums across North Carolina are set to nearly double with some older North Carolinians now being forced to pay as much as $2,600 a month for their health care
- Because of Edwards’ and Murphy’s vote against the ACA tax credits and their vote to gut Medicaid funding, more than 75,000 people in their districts will lose their health care altogether
The DCCC will continue holding Edwards and Murphy accountable for their long record of attacking affordable health care and breaking their promise to lower costs for North Carolinians.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Today’s vote is another cruel reminder that Chuck Edwards and Greg Murphy don’t care about North Carolinians struggling to keep up with skyrocketing health care bills and are instead actively working to raise costs. Voters will remember Edwards and Murphy’s betrayal at the ballot box.” |
