Yesterday, Rep. Claudia Tenney tried to deny a huge win for Central New Yorkers by voting “NO” on the wildly popular bipartisan infrastructure package. The legislation makes game-changing investments in clean infrastructure, significantly expands broadband access, strengthens our climate resilience, and provides millions of Americans with good-paying union jobs.
If it were up to Claudia Tenney, workers and families across Central New York would have lost out on this once-in-a-generation investment to fix their crumbling roads and bridges and rebuild their communities to be even stronger.
This infrastructure package is the largest long-term investment in our infrastructure and competitiveness in nearly a century, and thanks to House Democrats, people across the country will feel the effects of this legislation for generations to come.
While Tenney followed her party leaders and extremist House Republicans in voting “NO” on this legislation that a majority of the American people support, House Democrats worked to ensure Congress passed this legislation that will invest not only in our roads, but in the American people, creating thousands of good-paying union jobs in Claudia Tenney’s backyard and growing the economy in a way that works better for everyone.
“Yesterday, Claudia Tenney proved once again that she would rather take orders from her radical party bosses than deliver meaningful wins for Central New York,” said DCCC Spokesperson Abel Iraola. “No thanks to Claudia Tenney, New Yorkers will reap the benefits of this historic investment for years, have access to good-paying jobs, and finally get their roads, bridges, and public transit fixed. If it wasn’t already clear, yesterday’s vote shows voters in Central New York can’t rely on Claudia Tenney to deliver.”
