House Republicans are suffering a peril of their own making. After voting in lockstep with the Trump administration to continue their reckless war of choice in Iran, Republicans are now worried that the conflict will cost them the midterms.
But House Republicans aren’t exactly distancing themselves from the war…
Speaker Mike Johnson: “The Iran conflict has been the cause, of course, of gas prices going up.”
Zach Nunn (IA-03): “Let’s deal with this now, and let’s get it done.”
Jen Kiggins (VA-02):“We need to continue to support (the military) and to support the objectives which the president has made clear… I support those military actions.”
DCCC Spokesperson Liam Buckley: “House Republicans would rather lose in November than stand with their constituents against Trump’s reckless war in Iran. They couldn’t care less about making life easier for hardworking families.”
