CO-07 Congressional Candidate Aadland Pushes Putin’s Talking Points

Do fellow Republicans Laurel Imer and Tim Reichert denounce Russian propaganda in their race?

As Russia wages its brutal assault on Ukraine, instead of standing with our democratic ally, some Colorado Republicans have found it too hard to resist the call to conspiracy that has overtaken their party on nearly every issue.

Erik Aadland, the Republican hopeful in Colorado’s 7th congressional primary, is only the latest to exploit this crisis and uplift conspiracy. Yesterday, Aadland tweeted in agreement with former congressmember Tulsi Gabbard, who made waves pushing what many, including Sen. Mitt Romney, deemed tantamount to ‘Russian propaganda.’

Without evidence, Gabbard, far-right commentators, and Russia itself have repeatedly claimed the existence of secretive, Ukrainian bioweapons facilities conducting dangerous research as a war rages. Now, CO-07’s Aadland has joined this conspiratorial chorus.

DCCC Spokesperson Maddy Mundy
“Even as Russia’s totalitarian regime assaults Ukrainian democracy, some Republicans are too caught in their own web of conspiracy to decide who the good guys and bad guys are. As Erik Aadland pushes Putin’s talking points in Colorado, will fellow Republicans Laurel Imer and Tim Reichert condemn the conspiracy in their race?”
