Out-of-touch businessman Tim Reichert just filed to run for Colorado’s 7th Congressional District. Most recently, Reichert made waves when his racist and misogynistic anti-birth control op-ed resurfaced.
The op-ed attacks women’s reproductive health care using shoddy data and racist claims, going so far as to assert birth control creates a higher risk of infidelity among African American women.
Reichert is not the only Republican in the race with out-of-touch views on women’s freedoms to make their own health care decisions. Erik Aadland said he supports Texas’s bounty hunter abortion ban and Laurel Imer wants to defund Planned Parenthood. Do they agree with Reichert that birth control hurts women?
DCCC Spokesperson Maddy Mundy
“Tim Reichert’s racist, anti-woman stance on birth control is an embarrassment. Across the country, Republicans are trying to take us backwards when it comes to women’s freedoms. With reproductive rights on the line, voters deserve to know if Erik Aadland and Laurel Imer agree with their primary opponent’s outrageous and racist attacks on reproductive care.”
