Coffman Named to GOP Most Vulnerable List

** Similar releases went to Republican districts across the country **

Today, the NRCC named 10 additional Republican members of Congress to its most vulnerable incumbents list—also known as the NRCC Patriot Program—and Mike Coffman unsurprisingly earned this undesirable designation.

It’s clear why. Over the past several months, Mike Coffman has marched in near lockstep with President Trump and Speaker Ryan and he refused to force President Trump to release his tax returns. Now, as the Republican Party is set to repeal protections for people with pre-existing conditions, Mike Coffman is growing more vulnerable by the day and his own party knows it.

“Republicans fully control Washington D.C., and the first 100 days have not been pretty for vulnerable people like Mike Coffman and his party knows it. Coffman is between a rock and a hard place when it comes to the Republican agenda, including a heartless Repeal and Ripoff bill to strip healthcare from hundreds of thousands of Colorado families, including those with pre-existing conditions,” said DCCC Rachel Irwin. “Mike Coffman’s failed leadership is making him even more vulnerable ahead of 2018.”

The House Republicans’ latest Repeal and Ripoff bill raises premiums for hardworking families, imposes an age tax on people over 50 years old, and guts protections for people with pre-existing conditions. To make matters worse, it breaks the concrete promises that nearly every vulnerable member of Congress has made to their constituents with preexisting conditions (IN THEIR OWN WORDS: Vulnerable House Republicans Promised Never to Remove Protections for Preexisting Conditions).
