Ahead of the GOP voting on a far-right budget blueprint that would decimate critical programs like Medicaid, Coloradans are holding Gabe Evans’ feet to the fire for refusing to speak out against his extreme party bosses as they prepare to decimate critical programs that Coloradans rely on, instead of lowering costs.

  • Colorado Democrats on Monday urged U.S. Rep. Gabe Evans, a Fort Lupton Republican, to address his constituents’ concerns about potential cuts to their Medicaid benefits at a demonstration outside his Northglenn office.

  • The U.S. House of Representatives will vote on a budget resolution this week that would extend tax cuts from President Donald Trump’s first term, boost spending on border security, and cut various government programs that could affect Medicaid coverage for millions of low-income Americans.

  • Evans’ office did not return Newsline’s request for comment on the budget resolution and the demonstration at his office.

“Protesters gathered outside Colorado Republican Representative Gabe Evans’ office earlier opposing his party’s budget plan that seeks up to $880 billion dollars in federal spending cuts. Northglenn’s Mayor warned the cuts would devastate many of the 73,000 Medicaid recipients in Evans’ own district, including children.
