Former FBI Director James Comey’s investigation is troubling on many levels, but for Congressman Brian Mast it’s downright damning.
Former FBI Director James Comey testified under oath today that he has “no doubt” the information used by Mast’s campaign was stolen by Russian hackers, coordinated by the Russian government. Brian Mast has defended using materials stolen by Russia as simply using “open source information.”
“Congressman Mast’s insistence that using information stolen by a foreign adversary is defensible shows that he either lacks the understanding or seriousness necessary to hold elected office,” said DCCC spokesperson Cole Leiter. “Voters on the Treasure Coast and in the Palm Beaches expect their elected representative to act with some semblance of accountability. Once again, Congressman Mast has failed that test and his voters will remember that Mast sided with Russian hackers over the sanctity of US elections.”
