Today, Corrupt Carlos Giménez vetoed the reinstallation of a Citizen Review Board to provide oversight and review of instances of police violence after promising to support it, reminding every single one of his constituents why they can never trust him to do the right thing.
DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer released the following statement:
“Thank goodness we are fast approaching the moment when Miami-Dade won’t have to deal with the disappointment that comes with Corrupt Carlos Giménez in elected office.”
This flip flop follows Corrupt Carlos vetoing the creation of this Review Board back in 2018. At the time he argued: “there is no greater accountability measure than my own expectations of every single Miami-Dade County employee.”
Then in the wake of national conversations and bipartisan support for police reform, he claimed he’d changed his mind, acknowledging the need to rebuild public trust.
But apparently that “promise” was nothing more than lip service.
