Comments Come As Nearly 10,000 New Cases Confirmed in FL Yesterday
As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, Miami-Dade County is fast becoming the epicenter of the pandemic in Florida. Meanwhile, Corrupt Carlos Giménez has nothing but good things to say about President Trump and Governor DeSantis’ universally panned response.
On a Bloomberg podcast, Giménez was asked how he feels about Trump and DeSantis’ handling of the pandemic. His answer? Corrupt Carlos said he had “no problem” with Trump’s or DeSantis’s handling of the crisis and even remarked, “The Governor’s been excellent.”
Corrupt Carlos then went on to blame the resurgence of COVID on all young people, rejecting the importance of a nationally coordinated response and his role in failing the people of Miami-Dade.
REMINDER: Gimenez has previously praised Trump’s “strong leadership” on COVID-19.
“People in Miami-Dade are dying, hospitals are running out of ICUs beds, and confirmed cases continue to rise, yet through it all Corrupt Carlos Giménez is only looking out for his own self-interest, praising his party leaders despite their abysmal reaction to COVID-19,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “As Miami-Dade cases continue to spike, the time for political opportunism has passed. Corrupt Carlos’ willingness to criticize his own constituents rather than his party bosses who’ve refused to take this pandemic seriously shows exactly why he has no place in elected office.”
