Does Corrupt Carlos Support Trump’s Post-Election Plans to Drill Offshore?

Corrupt Carlos Has Received Over $11,000 from a Fossil Fuel Company with Maduro Ties

Yesterday, Politico released a bombshell report detailing that the Trump Administration plans to “open the door to oil and gas drilling off Florida’s coast — but will wait until after the November election to avoid blowback in a swing state whose waters both parties have long considered sacrosanct.”

This puts Corrupt Carlos Giménez in an uncomfortable spot given his close ties to the fossil fuel industry. Per his last personal financial disclosure the mayor owned $28,080 in Diamondback Energy stock and he received over $16,000 in fossil fuel donations just last quarter, including over $11,000 from executives at a company with ties to Venezuelan dictator Maduro.

And we all know that Corrupt Carlos never misses a chance to put his donors first…

“Donors and lobbyists have always known the best way to get Corrupt Carlos on their side is to donate to his political campaigns, which is exactly what fossil fuel companies have done in spades,” said DCCC Spokesperson Sarah Guggenheimer. “So with these important donors looking to collect, and his bff Trump’s determination to begin offshore drilling, Floridians deserve to know: will Corrupt Carlos stand with them or his corrupt benefactors?”
