| Last night, Cory Mills, Anna Paulina Luna, Laurel Lee, Maria Elvira Salazar voted to shield Donald Trump from Congressional oversight on his sweeping, reckless tariffs that are raising costs for Floridians.
The pivotal vote comes as a new report from the Tax Foundation found Trump’s tariffs cost the average American household $1,000 last year. The cost is expected to rise in 2026 to $1,300 if existing tariffs that House Republicans voted on today stay in place.
This isn’t the first time Mills, Luna, Lee, and Salazar voted to rubber stamp Trump’s sweeping tariffs. In September of 2025, Mills, Luna, Lee, Salazar and Republicans voted to protect price-hiking tariffs, after doing the same thing in March of 2025. Last night’s vote would have shielded oversight until the Summer of 2026.
DCCC Spokesperson Madison Andrus:
“Cory Mills, Anna Paulina Luna, Laurel Lee, and Maria Elvira Salazar have been caught dead-to-rights on voting to raise costs for hardworking families. They pledged to lower the cost of living on the campaign trail but have done the exact opposite. Promises made, promises broken.” |
