| Tom Barrett seems to have taken a vow of silence.
He is completely and totally mum as Trump threatens the Gordie Howe Bridge in order to give a payday to the billionaire Mouroun family – who has cut Barrett more than $12,000 in campaign checks.
Michigan Advance: “…Barrett did not issue [a] statement on the matter… The Advance asked Barrett’s office on Tuesday if he had a stance on Trump’s bridge commentary but they did not respond to the inquiry.”
WLNS: “U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett has been silent so far, and his office did not respond to multiple requests for comment. Barrett has received more than $12,000 from the Maroun family.”
Trump is threatening to wreak havoc on Michigan’s economy, hurting the auto industry, threatening jobs, and hiking prices on families; Tom Barrett is standing by.
Tom Barrett must answer: Do you support holding Michigan’s economy hostage and raising prices for families so that your billionaire campaign donors can turn a profit? Or will you stand up to Trump and your party bosses and side with Michiganders for once?
We think we know the answer.
