COWARDLY KEAN: Vulnerable Congressman Again Refuses to Join In-Person Town Hall in His District

Kean Jr. refuses to join Senator Kim in Westfield to explain why he voted to kick his constituents off their health care to fund tax cuts for billionaires
Tom Kean Jr. is once again dodging his own constituents. 

After voting for Republicans’ Big, Ugly Bill that makes the largest cuts to Medicaid in history to fund tax cuts for billionaires, Kean Jr. is declining an invitation from Senator Andy Kim to join an in-person town hall in Westfield this weekend to explain his vote.

Reminder: Tom Kean Jr. “has not held an in-person gathering since beginning his congressional term in 2023.” 

DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin:
“Tom Kean Jr. is a coward. He’s been in elected office for more than two decades but refuses to meet face to face for an in-person town hall with his own constituents. Even Kean Jr. knows his vote for the largest cuts to Medicaid in history is simply indefensible and will be career-ending.”

Senator Andy Kim will be coming to Westfield this Saturday for a town hall, and he’s invited the city’s hometown GOP congressman, Rep. Tom Kean Jr. (R-Westfield), to join him. […]

“Senator Kim invites Congressman Tom Kean Jr. to join him at this town hall so the Congressman can explain to his constituents why he helped pass a budget that will put hospitals and health care centers in his district at risk of reducing services and put food banks at risk of closure, all while driving up costs for NJ-07 residents so that billionaires can have lower taxes,” the announcement reads.
