Cresent Hardy: Welcome to the Trump ticket

trumpballot_hardy

With Trump’s primary victory last night in Indiana coupled with John Kasich’s and Ted Cruz’s withdrawals from the presidential race, accidental Congressman Cresent Hardy now faces what he knew was inevitable: Hardy is sharing the ticket with Donald Trump.

In February Hardy endorsed Senator Marco Rubio, but even before that whole thing fell through, he actually said Trump’s “tone doesn’t bother me…he’s speaking the truth.” Unfortunately for Hardy, Trump’s ‘truth’ is completely out of touch with Nevada’s 4th Congressional District. Remember that time Trump said women should be punished for undergoing an abortion? Or that time he called immigrants criminals and rapists?

The writing is on the wall: the Republican Party is falling apart, and with it, Hardy’s reelection chances:

“Accidental Congressman Cresent Hardy should get the talking points ready for defending Trump and his out of touch and extreme views,” said Barb Solish of the DCCC. “But no matter what Hardy says or does, it won’t change the fact his name is on the Trump ticket.”
