Santos’ praise of McCarthy comes as vulnerable New York Republicans – under McCarthy’s direction – voted to let Santos stay in Congress
Criminally-indicted Republican George Santos recently credited MAGA extremist Kevin McCarthy for being a “wonderful leader in the party” who had been “very fair” to him.
This comes as no surprise considering McCarthy got vulnerable New York Republicans Nick LaLota, Anthony D’Esposito, Mike Lawler, Marc Molinaro, and Brandon Williams to turn their back on New Yorkers and vote to protect Santos instead of expelling the serial liar – claiming it was the “quickest way” to get rid of Santos and that their criminally-indicted colleague would be gone “before August recess.”
Well, it’s more than halfway through August recess and George Santos remains a loyal vote for Kevin McCarthy’s slim, dysfunctional House majority while vulnerable New York Republicans benefit from McCarthy’s thank you tour to the Catskills and Central New York.
DCCC Spokesperson Ellie Dougherty:
“Kevin McCarthy, Nick LaLota, Anthony D’Esposito, Mike Lawler, Marc Molinaro, and Brandon Williams are clearly in cahoots to protect an admitted criminal. New York voters see right through these vulnerable Republicans’ cowardly inaction.”
