Curbelo and Diaz-Balart must stand up to President Trump on DAPA

With President Trump in Miami today, Congressmen Curbelo and Diaz-Balart must publicly condemn President Trump’s anti-immigrant policies and his administration’s decision to rescind DAPA – President Obama’s program to protect undocumented parents of lawful U.S. residents and citizens. The question is whether they will put party politics over the needs of their communities.

“True leadership is standing up for what is right, when it matters most,” said Cole Leiter, DCCC spokesperson. “If Congressmen Curbelo and Diaz-Balart stand silently by as President Trump’s Administration continues to split up millions of families in their communities and across the country, then they will have failed that test and South Floridians will hold them accountable come November.”

Congressman Curbelo and Diaz-Balart have both previously expressed support for DAPA. If they are silent as President Trump rescinds the program it will show that Curbelo and Diaz-Balart have chosen political convenience over millions of families who are at risk.
