Congressman Dana Rohrabacher – who represents a diverse district that is 21 percent Hispanic and 17 percent AAPI – recently came out last week against fixing DACA to protect DREAMers. Instead, he called on Congress to refuse any policy because it would “obliterate” chances of controlling the border, and said that “the only thing I would have a stomach for if DACA comes first is if it’s defeated.”
Yes, this is coming from the Congressman who represents a diverse district that Hillary Clinton won and has 3,700 DACA recipients.
“If Congressman Rohrabacher doesn’t want Congress to find a solution on DACA and protect Dreamers, a critical issue in Southern California, then he has no business representing the people of California’s 48th Congressional District,” said DCCC Hispanic Media Director Javier Gamboa. “DACA recipients are losing their legal status every day, and California families are being torn apart.
