A week after Donald Trump was found guilty on 34 felony charges, vulnerable California Republican John Duarte is already cosigning new methods of manipulating the American judicial system to support the former president and recently convicted felon.
Duarte quickly rallied to Trump’s defense, but he’s now taking it a step further – telling Axios he plans to support far-right Speaker Mike Johnson’s new legislation that “would allow current or former presidents to move state-level charges against them into federal court.”
The bill is the latest installment in Duarte and extreme House Republicans’ “multi-pronged effort targeting the Justice Department” to protect Donald Trump at the expense of the American people and the rule of law.

“Every day, John Duarte is proving he’s far more focused on wasting taxpayers’ dime and time, undercutting the justice system, and serving Donald Trump than getting anything good done for Central Valley families. California’s 13th Congressional District deserves a representative who will fight for them first – not appease a convicted felon by rewriting American legal code.”
