Yesterday, David Schweikert voted against the annual National Defense Authorization Act, opposing significant bipartisan investments into our nation’s military such as a pay raise for service members. His vote is a slap in the face to the men and women in Arizona who put their lives on the line for our security.
No thanks to David Schweikert, this year’s legislation:
-
Raises service member pay by 5.2%, the largest bump in 20 years.
-
Invests in child care, housing, and health care.
-
Bolsters education and child development for military families.
-
Improves readiness and spurs modernization efforts.
-
Invest in our allies and our relationships abroad.
With his vote, David Schweikert failed service members and their families across Arizona.
DCCC Spokesperson Lauryn Fanguen:
“David Schweikert has inexplicably turned his back on Arizona’s servicemen and women, their families, and the local economy. Instead of placing support for our service members above political games, Schweikert opted for extremism. Voters are fed up with this disgusting brand of hyper-partisan politics, and will send Schweikert packing next year.”
