David Schweikert Chose Big Pharma Over American Families

Schweikert pockets more than $164,000 from big pharma while voting against lowering drug costs

New reporting from the American Independent today detailed more than $164,000 in campaign donations that Rep. David Schweikert (AZ-01) received from the pharmaceutical industry in this election cycle as he repeatedly does big pharma’s bidding in Congress.

As a reminder, Schweikert voted against the Inflation Reduction Act, legislation that will cap drug prices for Medicare recipients across the country. And earlier this year, Schweikert voted against a bill that would have capped the cost of insulin for Arizonans – then tried to justify it by claiming there is already a cure for Type 1 diabetes (there isn’t).

Yet again, Schweikert chose lining his own pockets over people, corporations over communities.

DCCC Spokesperson Monica Robinson
“Time and time again, David Schweikert has voted against legislation to lower the sky-high prescription drug costs for Arizonans. He has a proven track record of choosing corporations and special interests over families, and voters will eagerly elect new leadership in November who actually deliver for them.”
