| In his latest ad, David Valadao is trying to rewrite his record – blatantly lying to Central Valley voters about the votes he’s taken in Congress.
CLAIM: “David Valadao is…an independent problem solver.”
TRUTH: Valadao has voted with Donald Trump 98% of the time this Congress and fallen in line with his party on the votes that matter most to Central Valley families – from gutting health care and rubber-stamping tariffs to immigration and the war in Iran.
CLAIM: “David Valadao is fighting to lower the cost of gas, groceries, and housing.”
TRUTH: David Valadao has voted 5 times to rubberstamp Trump’s reckless war-of-choice in Iran skyrocketing the cost of gas to over $6. He has voted 9 times to protect tariffs that are driving up prices and costing Valley families an estimated $2,500 a year. Valadao isn’t lowering costs. He’s voting to raise them.
CLAIM: David Valadao is “protecting Medicaid and Medicare.”
TRUTH: This may be Valadao’s most shameless lie yet. After repeatedly promising Valley families he would protect Medicaid, Valadao cast the deciding vote for the largest Medicaid cuts in history — ripping away health care from nearly 70,000 of his own constituents. No congressional district has more at stake: 87% of children in CA-22 rely on Medi-Cal, and 82% of CA-22 residents reliant on the program were Latino.
