| NEWS: David Valadao is desperately trying to rewrite his disastrous health care record.
In a new interview with KGET, Valadao claimed that: “health care plays a big role” in his district and admitted that health care costs “[are] going to continue to go up” – a crisis of his own making.
FACT: Valadao represents a bigger share of Medicaid recipients than any other House Republican. Despite repeatedly pledging not to gut Medicaid, Valadao cast the deciding vote for the largest cut to Medicaid in history – ripping away coverage from over 68,000 people in CA-22.
Valadao doubled down by attending a roundtable event “focused on healthcare challenges facing the Central Valley, including discussions of H.R. 1” – the very bill he cast the deciding vote to pass.
Valadao claimed: “Ensuring access to affordable, quality healthcare for Central Valley families is one of my top priorities.”
FACT: Valadao’s deciding vote on H.R.1 was estimated to trigger up to $128 billion in cuts to California health systems threatening hospitals, rural providers, and patient access throughout the San Joaquin Valley.
