Days Later: Malliotakis STILL Won’t Say If Ingesting Disinfectant Is Dangerous

Data Shows Higher Spike in NYC Poison Control Calls Than Originally Reported, Malliotakis Still Silent

New data suggests that the alarming uptick in calls to New York City poison control from people ingesting bleach and disinfectants is actually higher than previously reported.

Last week, career Albany politician and former lobbyist Nicole Malliotakis refused to say whether it was “dangerous” to suggest ingesting disinfectant.

After President Trump suggested that ingesting disinfectant may kill COVID-19, New York City’s Health Department’s Poison Control Center received an average of five calls per hour totaling 151 cases in the day following the President’s press conference. Further, the New York Daily News reports at least 39 cases involving possible ingestion of bleach and disinfectants—higher than originally thought.

In refusing to answer, Malliotakis, who never really stands for anything, is again following the party and ignoring medical professionals and the health and well-being of people she seeks to represent.

Will Nicole Malliotakis finally answer the question: is the suggestion of ingesting disinfectants dangerous?

“Nicole Malliotakis’ continued silence speaks volumes,” said DCCC Spokesperson Christine Bennett.
