New ad highlights Paulsen’s opposition to same-sex marriage and equal pay
A new DCCC ad released today highlights that Congressman Erik Paulsen and presidential nominee Donald Trump share the same views on same-sex marriage, equal pay, and a woman’s right to choose.
Erik Paulsen supported the constitutional amendment to ban same sex marriage on the 2012 Minnesota ballot, which was rejected by voters statewide and in the 3rd Congressional District.
Paulsen has also voted to block consideration of the Paycheck Fairness Act, a bill that would help end the pay gap between men and women and ensure equal pay for equal work. In voting against the Lilly Ledbetter Act, Paulsen declared that legislation like Lilly Ledbetter – which allows for employees to sue employers for wage discrimination – leads to “frivolous lawsuits.”
“What Congressman Erik Paulsen doesn’t want voters to know is that while he purports to be a moderate, he has voted against a woman’s right to choose and a woman’s right to equal pay – and stood with anti-LGBT right-wing groups to try to ban same-sex marriage in Minnesota,” said Sacha Haworth of the DCCC. “What’s abundantly clear is that Erik Paulsen is no moderate, as evidenced by the fact that he votes with his party 93 percent of the time, and rather than represent the values of Minnesotans, Paulsen shares the views of his presidential nominee Donald Trump.”

Is it set in a time machine?
