Finello Added to Highly Competitive Red to Blue Program as Polling Shows Tight Race in PA-01
Today, DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos announced that PA-01 Democratic candidate Christina Finello will be added to the highly selective Red to Blue program in recognition that this Clinton-won district that Congressman Fitzpatrick barely won in 2018 is a prime Democratic pickup opportunity.
Finello has earned a spot on the DCCC’s Red to Blue program by surpassing aggressive goals for grassroots engagement, local support, campaign organization, and fundraising. Beyond Christina’s demonstrated ability to build a winning campaign infrastructure, she has a strong record of service, an authentic message that connects with voters in her district, and deep ties to the communities she aims to serve.
“As a fifth-generation Pennsylvanian, Christina Finello knows the issues her neighbors face every day – like unaffordable health care and how tough it is to find good-paying jobs – because she’s lived them herself. That’s why, in Congress, she’ll make sure that all working people in her district come first,” said DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos. “With her deep roots in Lower Bucks County and a district trending rapidly toward Democrats, momentum is on Christina’s side. The race in PA-01 is highly competitive. Polling released publicly by House Majority PAC shows Finello down only one point against Fitzpatrick, 45% – 44%, with VP Biden leading President Trump 52% to 38% in the district. Additionally, internal campaign polling from last month shows Finello down a mere two points, 40% – 38%, with former VP Biden garnering 56% of the vote.
