DCCC Adds CO-05 To Districts In Play As Democrats Further Expand Battlefield for 2026 Midterms

DCCC’s 2026 offensive target list grows to include Jeff Crank as Coloradans sour on Republicans’ record of gutting health care and raising costs

Today, the DCCC is expanding House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 election cycle to include CO-05, signaling Democrats’ readiness to reclaim the House majority by widening the battlefield and working to defeat Jeff Crank.

The DCCC’s Districts in Play are competitive districts held by vulnerable Republicans across the country that will determine the House Majority.

Crank’s addition to the DCCC’s Districts in Play sends the clear message that Democrats know Colorado voters are souring on his wildly unpopular record of raising costs, attacking affordable health care, and hurting working families.

Statement from DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene:
“Jeff Crank is failing Coloradans. Instead of fighting for families, Crank is spending his time in Washington protecting reckless tariffsgutting health care to pay for tax cuts for billionaires, and refusing to push back against disastrous cuts to the VA that hurt veterans and military families. Crank is everything that Coloradans hate about Congress: a rubber stamp for policies that cater to the ultra-wealthy and well-connected at the expense of hardworking people. The DCCC will make sure that come November, Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District elects a representative that finally puts them first.”

Democrats’ consistent overperformance in special elections this cycle is further proof that we have a path to victory this year to unseat Crank and win CO-05.

Additionally, the DCCC has launched nominee fund pages, providing grassroots donors the ability to contribute now to the eventual Democratic nominee in Districts In Play.
