DCCC Adds Florida’s 22nd Congressional District To Districts In Play As Democrats Expand Battlefield for 2026 Midterms

DCCC’s 2026 offensive target list grows to include FL-22 as Floridians sour on Republicans’ record of broken promises and higher prices

Today, the DCCC is expanding House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 election cycle to include Florida’s 22nd Congressional District, signaling Democrats’ readiness to reclaim the House majority by widening the battlefield and focusing on this newly competitive seat in Florida.

The DCCC’s Districts in Play are competitive GOP held or open districts across the country that will determine the House Majority.

FL-22’s addition to the DCCC’s Districts in Play sends the clear message that Democrats know Florida voters are souring on Republicans’ wildly unpopular record of raising costs, attacking affordable health care, and hurting working families.

Statement from DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene:
“Republicans’ cynical attempt to subvert the will of Florida voters continues to backfire. They have lost the support of the American people and have no record to run on besides a trail of broken promises and higher prices. Democrats are keeping South Florida blue.”

Democrats’ consistent overperformance in election after election this cycle is further proof that we have a path to victory this cycle to win FL-22.

Additionally, the DCCC has launched nominee fund pages, providing grassroots donors the ability to contribute now to the eventual Democratic nominee in Districts In Play.
