| Today, the DCCC is expanding House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 election cycle to include Indiana’s 5th Congressional District, signaling Democrats’ readiness to reclaim the House majority by widening the battlefield and working to defeat Victoria Spartz.
The DCCC’s Districts in Play are competitive districts held by vulnerable Republicans across the country that will determine the House majority.
IN-05’s addition to the DCCC’s Districts in Play sends the clear message that Democrats know Indiana voters are souring on Spartz’s wildly unpopular record of raising costs, attacking affordable health care, and hurting working families.
“Victoria Spartz has made life worse for Indiana’s working families. More concerned with getting attention from her fellow extremist House Republicans, Spartz has left Indiana high and dry by backing a war of choice in Iran causing gas prices to skyrocket, and voting to kick more than 220,000 Hoosiers off their health insurance. Indiana voters are going to reject Spartz and elect a real fighter who isn’t going to let them down,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene.
