DCCC Adds Jared Golden (ME-02) and Richard Ojeda (WV-03) to Red to Blue Program

DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján today announced the ninth round of candidates on the DCCC’s highly competitive Red to Blue program. Fifty-five candidates have now earned a spot on Red to Blue by surpassing aggressive goals for grassroots engagement, local support, campaign organization and fundraising. Beyond their demonstrated abilities to build a winning campaign infrastructure, these candidates have strong records of service and deep ties to the communities they aim to represent.

“Jared Golden has been driven by service to his community and country his entire life, and his competitive campaign will ultimately mean voters in Maine have real representation in Congress,” said DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján. “From his time in the United States Marine Corps to his time in the Maine Legislature fighting for veterans’ rights and affordable healthcare for his fellow Mainers, Jared’s record speaks for itself. Jared is on track to win back this district and ensure working Maine families once again have a fighter on their side in the Second District.”

Raised in Logan County, Richard Ojeda has dedicated his life to fighting for the people of West Virginia,” continued Luján. “As a Major in the Army he defended our country in combat zones, and he continued the fight as a State Senator when he got home, standing up against big corporations and helping teachers get the living wage they were owed. Richard has never backed down from a challenge and has the resolve and determination necessary to win in November and give the people of West Virginia a representative who is one of them.”

Red to Blue is a highly competitive and battle-tested DCCC program that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue to run strong campaigns. Additionally, the DCCC provides strategic guidance, staff resources, candidate trainings, and more.
