DCCC Adds Jon Hoadley to Selective ‘Red to Blue’ Program

Hoadley Added to Highly Competitive Red to Blue Program as Democrats Expand Map Across the Country

Today, DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos announced that MI-06 Democratic candidate Jon Hoadley will be added to the highly selective Red to Blue program – further recognition that Democrats continue to expand the House battlefield heading into November 2020.

Hoadley has earned a spot on the DCCC’s Red to Blue program by surpassing aggressive goals for grassroots engagement, local support, campaign organization, and fundraising. Beyond Hoadley’s demonstrated ability to build a winning campaign infrastructure, he has a strong record of service, an authentic message that connects with voters in his district, and deep ties to the communities he aims to serve.

“Jon Hoadley knows firsthand the challenges families face when confronted with an unexpected illness or medical bill. When his partner was diagnosed with MS, they faced the same worry about being able to afford his medicine and losing his insurance, like so many families in Southwest Michigan. That’s why I know that Jon will be a champion for his community in the 6th District, whether it’s protecting insurance coverage for folks with pre-existing conditions, providing a quality education, or combatting climate change,” said DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos.

Internal campaign polling shows Hoadley leading long-time incumbent Fred Upton by one point, 38% to 37%.
