DCCC’s 2026 offensive target list grows to include Chuck Edwards as North Carolinians sour on Republicans’ record of broken promises and higher prices
Today, the DCCC is expanding House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 election cycle to include Chuck Edwards, signaling Democrats’ readiness to reclaim the House majority by widening the battlefield and focusing on this newly vulnerable seat in North Carolina.
The DCCC’s Districts in Play are competitive districts held by vulnerable Republicans across the country that will determine the House Majority.
Chuck Edwards’ addition to the DCCC’s Districts in Play sends the clear message that Democrats know North Carolina voters are souring on Chuck Edwards’ wildly unpopular record of raising costs, attacking affordable health care, and hurting working families.
Statement from DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene: “Chuck Edwards has used his Congressional seat not to help the people of Western North Carolina but as an excuse to enrich himself. Edwards has abandoned North Carolina’s working families, rural communities, and veterans. North Carolinians don’t want a politician with such disregard for the people that he is supposed to serve. Democrats are facing Edwards head on to elect a representative who will finally work on behalf of Western North Carolina.”
Democrats’ consistent overperformance in election after election in 2025 is further proof that we have a path to victory this cycle to unseat Chuck Edwards and win NC-11.
Additionally, the DCCC has launched nominee fund pages, providing grassroots donors the ability to contribute now to the eventual Democratic nominee in Districts In Play.
