DCCC Adds NC-13 To Districts In Play As Democrats Expand Battlefield for 2026 Midterms

DCCC’s 2026 offensive target list grows to include Brad Knott in NC-13 as North Carolinians sour on higher costs, less health care, and D.C. corruption

Today, the DCCC is expanding House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 election cycle to include North Carolina’s Thirteenth Congressional District, signaling Democrats’ readiness to reclaim the House majority by widening the battlefield and working to defeat Brad Knott.

The DCCC’s Districts in Play are competitive districts held by vulnerable Republicans across the country that will determine the House Majority.

Adding NC-13 to the DCCC’s Districts in Play sends a clear message that Democrats know North Carolina voters are souring on Knott’s wildly unpopular record of raising costs, attacking affordable health care, standing by corruption, and hurting working families.

“Last year, Republicans gerrymandered North Carolina to protect mediocre national Republicans, and it’s backfiring. Knott’s disastrous record, highlighted by his votes to kick thousands of North Carolinians off their health insurance, give tax breaks to billionaires, and support Trump’s cost-hiking agenda, has made life unaffordable for working families. The voters in his district know he’s been a failure and are ready to send him packing in November,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene.

Brad Knott represents a district that Governor Josh Stein carried by four points in 2024. With an incredibly popular Democratic Senate nominee at the top of the ticket, turnout across the state is expected to increase this cycle, giving our path to victory a boost as we work to unseat Knott and win NC-13.
