DCCC Adds NV-02 To Districts In Play As Democrats Expand Battlefield for 2026 Midterms

DCCC’s 2026 offensive target list grows to include NV-02 as Nevadans sour on higher costs, less health care, and D.C. corruption

Today, the DCCC is expanding House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 election cycle to include Nevada’s Second Congressional District, signaling Democrats’ readiness to reclaim the House majority by widening the battlefield and flipping the seat from red to blue.

The DCCC’s Districts in Play include competitive open seats across the country that will determine the House majority.

NV-02’s addition to the DCCC’s Districts in Play sends the clear message that Democrats know Nevada voters are souring on D.C. Republicans’ wildly unpopular record of raising costs, attacking affordable health care, and hurting working families.

“Even Republicans agree: Nevada’s Second District is squarely in play this November. With a weak Republican nominee and a fired-up electorate that’s fed up with skyrocketing costs, Democrats have the first opportunity in decades to compete in Northern Nevada and flip this seat,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene.

Democrats’ consistent overperformance in special elections this cycle is further proof that we have a path to victory this year to win NV-02.
