| Today, the DCCC is expanding House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 election cycle to include Oklahoma’s Fifth Congressional District, signaling Democrats’ readiness to reclaim the House majority by widening the battlefield and working to defeat Stephanie Bice.
The DCCC’s Districts in Play are competitive districts held by vulnerable Republicans across the country that will determine the House Majority.
The addition of OK-05 to the DCCC’s Districts in Play sends a clear message that Democrats know Oklahoma voters are souring on Bice’s wildly unpopular record. Despite this being a Trump +18 district, Bice has been up on air and has privately worried that the President’s abysmal numbers will sink her reelection chances, a clear sign that Republicans are concerned about their ability to hold onto the seat.
“Stephanie Bice wasn’t wrong when she privately worried that Trump and Republicans’ policies would sink her reelection chances. Between Bice’s votes to gut health care coverage for up to 171,000 Oklahomans and her rubberstamping Trump’s reckless trade war that sent grocery prices soaring, it’s clear Bice has been a disaster for Oklahoma families,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene.
Recent polling shows the race at the margin of error, with Trump underwater and Bice deeply unpopular with Independents. Democrats’ consistent overperformance in special elections this cycle shows that we have a path to unseat Bice and win OK-05. |
