| Today, the DCCC is expanding House Democrats’ Districts in Play for the 2026 election cycle to include Texas’s 23rd Congressional District, signaling Democrats’ readiness to reclaim the House majority by widening the battlefield and working to defeat Brandon Herrera.
The DCCC’s Districts in Play include competitive open seats across the country that will determine the House majority.
TX-23’s addition to the DCCC’s Districts in Play sends the clear message that Democrats know Texas voters are souring on D.C. Republicans’ wildly unpopular record of raising costs, attacking affordable health care, and hurting working families.
“Brandon Herrera’s disturbing history of extremism, violence, and antisemitic rhetoric puts this open Congressional district squarely in play. As Latino voters across the country swing back to Democrats because of Republicans’ broken promises and attacks on their communities, Texas voters will have a choice this November. And they are going to choose true leadership over more Republican chaos,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene.
