House Democrats’ Initial Offensive Targets Include 21 Vulnerable Republicans and One Competitive Open Seat Key to Protecting Democratic House Majority
Today, DCCC Chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney announced House Democrats’ initial Districts In Play for the 2022 election cycle. The Districts In Play are 22 competitive districts across the country that are Republican-held or open and will be critical battlegrounds as the DCCC works to protect Democrats’ House majority this cycle.
“Every single Republican on this list voted against putting checks in pockets and shots in arms, and we’re going to make sure voters in their district know it,” said DCCC Chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney. “The DCCC is prepared to protect our majority by recruiting compelling candidates and empowering their campaigns with the resources they need to draw the contrast between Democrats’ record of fighting for the middle class and Republicans’ toxic brand of defending conspiratorial insurrectionists and opposing direct relief for working families.”
Today’s news follows last month’s announcement of the DCCC’s 2021-2022 Frontliners, 32 incumbent Democrats seeking re-election in potentially competitive districts.
