DCCC Announces Latest Round of Exciting Red to Blue Candidates

Over Half of Red to Blue candidates are Women, Nearly One-Third Under 40 Years Old

DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján today announced the addition of two candidates to the DCCC’s Red to Blue program. Eighty-four candidates have now earned a spot on Red to Blue by surpassing aggressive goals for grassroots engagement, local support, campaign organization and fundraising. Beyond their demonstrated abilities to build a winning campaign infrastructure, these candidates have strong records of service and deep ties to the communities they aim to represent.

Chairman Luján issued the following statements about the latest additions to Red to Blue:

Mary Barzee Flores (FL-25)

“Through every step of her career, Mary Barzee Flores has shown the qualities that we need more of in Congress,” said Chairman Ben Ray Luján. “She will put hardworking Floridians before Washington special interests and will answer to the people she serves. She is running a strong campaign and finally providing the community she is running to represent the chance to vote for a new approach, not more of the same Republican agenda that hurts hardworking Floridians.”

Linda Coleman (NC-02)

“From working on a farm during summers as a young woman to serving in the North Carolina General Assembly, Linda Coleman knows the value of hard work and the importance of creating opportunity for others,” said Chairman Ben Ray Luján. “Now Linda is running to make sure the people of North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional District have access to better healthcare, better education, and better jobs.”

Red to Blue is a highly competitive and battle-tested DCCC program that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue to run strong campaigns. Additionally, the DCCC provides strategic guidance, staff resources, candidate trainings, and more.
