This week the DCCC is laying down more than $11 million across 35 districts as our candidates make their case to voters on broadcast and cable TV. 20 out of the 35 ads are running in offensive districts, including running coordinated ads in districts like KY-06, NC-11, and VA-01 for the first time – highlighting just how underwater Republicans are across the country with less than 40 days until the midterms.
REMINDER: Last week, Cook Political Report moved an additional 15 races in Democrats’ direction, including moving multiple formerly-solid Republican districts. The non-partisan race rater noted, in part:
“Despite a push for mid-decade redistricting [and] a massive reserve of cash[…], Republicans are on track to lose their House majority this November.
Unlike in 2018, the last midterm cycle when Republicans were in power, the most competitive House races are almost entirely in districts that President Donald Trump won. But, in large part due to his handling of the economy, the president is now deeply underwater and is dragging down Republican House members and candidates across these districts. […]
The most likely outcome at this point is that Democrats pick up five to 15 seats, resulting in Democrats holding 220 to 230 seats in 2027 — a fairly slim majority in modern U.S. history. That range could shift further in Democrats’ favor over the next five weeks if Republicans are unable to effectively stem the bleeding.”
DCCC National Political Director Brooke Butler:
“Democrats are in the driver’s seat heading into November. Our laser focus on costs, rooting out corruption, and putting hardworking Americans first is resonating with voters across the country. Democrats are poised to take back the House majority this November and the DCCC is helping to ensure voters hear from candidates directly on how they’ll deliver for the American people.”
