DCCC Announces Three Additions to Competitive ‘Red to Blue’ Program

Committee announces latest round of candidates ready to flip or keep critical seats blue

Today, the DCCC announced new additions to the Committee’s battle-tested ‘Red to Blue’ program. These top-tier candidates will receive strategic guidance, fundraising support, staff resources, and training to help ensure they are on track to flip critical seats or hold open seats in November.

“The DCCC is well positioned to take back the House thanks to incredible candidates like John Avlon, Whitney Fox, and April McClain Delaney,” said DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene. “They are all running to deliver lower costs, stand up for working families, and defend our freedoms – a stark contrast to their extreme, out-of-touch opponents. I look forward to working with them to win these seats and calling them colleagues in the next Congress.”

Red to Blue is a highly competitive and battle-tested DCCC program that arms top-tier candidates with organizational and fundraising support to help them continue building winning campaigns.

About DCCC’s New Red To Blue Candidates:

FL-13 – Whitney Fox: Whitney Fox is a Tampa Bay native raised by a single mother and is running for Congress to fight for the future of families like hers. During her tenure at the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, she worked with Democrats and Republicans to improve the Pinellas County transportation system and create jobs for community members. Whitney’s results oriented approach is the perfect foil to Anna Paulina Luna’s chaotic style of governing. She is dedicated to championing access to health care, affordable housing, and supporting local small businesses. In Congress, Whitney will fight to lower grocery costs, cap the cost of prescription drugs, and protect Social Security and abortion rights so that all hardworking Florida families can thrive.

Florida has a statewide ballot initiative to protect abortion rights this November which, given Luna’s radical and unpopular agenda to restrict abortion access, will be a boon to Whitney’s campaign as she highlights her fierce advocacy for abortion rights.

MD-06 – April McClain Delaney: As the mother of four daughters, April is dedicated to lowering costs for families, strengthening the middle class, and protecting our freedoms in Congress. With 30 years of experience across the private, public, and nonprofit sectors, April has built a strong record of helping working families, improving mental health services, protecting our children online, and expanding broadband in underserved communities. April is ready to address our toughest challenges with a common sense, common ground approach, ensuring that Washington works together to deliver results for Maryland families.

NY-01 – John Avlon: John Avlon is a native New Yorker whose immigrant grandparents inspired a deep love for our country. John and his wife, Margaret, first moved to the East End after they got married and now call Suffolk County their home. As an author, journalist, television anchor, and presidential historian, John has used his voice to warn Americans across the country about the dangers posed to our democracy for over a decade – and is now running for Congress to call out unhinged extremism and partisanship. In Congress, John will fight back against MAGA extremists to protect women’s reproductive rights, the environment, and our democracy. John will also work towards bipartisan solutions to secure the border, lower taxes, improve Long Island’s infrastructure, and create safe communities for Suffolk County families.

New York’s First Congressional District is a true toss up in a presidential year. Between his impressive fundraising, consolidation of local and national grassroots support, and a surge of voter enthusiasm, John Avlon is building a strong operation to win the support of Suffolk County voters who have been let down by Nick LaLota.
